Cats (Check off each correct answer.)

When playing with cats or kittens who haven't been declawed, you should:

1. Never try to pull them out of an enclosed space like under a couch or bed.

2. Never surprise them. For instance, if they are sleeping, by putting your face up close to them.

3. Not worry about cats or kittens, that you know, clawing you.

The answers are:

1. Never try to pull them out of an enclosed space like under a couch or bed. RIGHT.

Never try to pull a cat out by putting your face under a bed, sofa, or other enclosed space and reaching in. Even cats that know you can be startled or protective when in an enclosed environment and can claw at you in defense. It's best to call them out or wait till they come out on their own.

2. Never surprise them, like if they are sleeping, by putting your face up close to them. RIGHT.
Never startle them with your face close to them. Their first reflex might be to protect themselves by putting their claws out. They could end up scratching your face or eyes.

3. Not worry about cats or kittens, that you know, clawing you if you surprise or pull them out from under something. WRONG.
Even cats that you know or are your pets can sometimes act defensively if they feel threatened. Respect their instincts and don't put yourself or your eyes in danger.
